Apple is set to giveaway a gift card for their iTunes store for the value of $10,000 to one lucky customer. The promotion comes just a few days after Apple has launched the Mac App Store and they will be giving away the gift card to just one person. The person that will receive the gift card will be the person that downloads the 10 billionth app from the iTunes app store and they will then be contacted by Apple with information as to how to claim their reward.

As with any promotion, there are terms and conditions and they are nothing that you wouldn’t expect. In order to enter the competition you will have to be at least 13 years of age and will have to have an iTunes account. As well as this, you will need to download an applcation rather than a movie or song from iTunes although the app can either be free of paid. As well as this, you will only be able to download a maximum of 25 applications per day and anyone that is found to be using automated software will not be allowed into the competition and will be banned from the app store.
The Mac App Store has also managed to reach over 1 million downloads despite only being launched for a few days and these also count towards the applications downloaded in the promotion.
